8th Grade Mystery Unit
Old-Time radio Broadcasts
Working together in groups of five, the eighth grade students created mystery broadcasts. The broadcasts were crafted to sound like the old-time radio shows of the 1920’s.
To complete the productions, each group first worked together to write a mystery that included various evidentiary and crime solving techniques. After making the final revisions, and rehearsing their scripts, the groups entered the recording studio and recorded their mysteries into GarageBand. Once the recording segment was finished, each group returned to the classroom and added sound effects, final touches, and completed the editing process.
Each class then chose a winner and each of these can be heard on the Broadcast Winners page. The other productions - which are also outstanding - are located on the Group Broadcast page.
Enjoy!
